Busy Busy Busy
Hey!!! Life is going by way too fast. Me and my husband have been running our own business for a while now. It is so time consuming and money is going out left and right but we are learning as we go and pushing through. I am OFFICIALLY done with school and I will never go back again. I sware...I'm like a career student. Over the years I have obtained the following degrees.
Associates of Science in General Education
Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice
Associates of Science in Nursing
Bachelors of Science in Nursing
Masters of Science in Health Administration with concentration in Health Information.
Yup, I am done. I just want to work and live my life and enjoy my family. I have an amazing husband and we have 3 kids and a home/farm that our kids can create memories in. All I want to focus on is enjoying life and I refuse to waste even one second doing something that doesn't bring me or my family joy. With the business and the kids, my husband and I don't get much alone time but we try to squeeze in as much time as possible. In fact, we go grocery shopping without the kids just to get some alone time. It's not much but it will do. In a couple of months me and my husband are going on a cruise on the 2nd biggest cruise ship in the world and I can't wait. We both deserve it. We have been running our business nonstop and I earned two degrees in less than a year by going to 2 schools at the same time and taking full-time course loads in both programs at the same time. I graduated with honors from both schools last December. My husband and I were gonna spend our anniversary (new years eve) in Vegas as a reward for all of our hard work but the business came first. The cruise is coming up and we have that to look forward to so I am happy about that.
After the cruise it will be time to prepare for Spring. We raise 2 hogs every year so we have to re-enforce our pig pen and buy our feeder pigs. We have to clear out the garden and get seeds started for the upcoming planting season. We are expanding our garden (AGAIN) and planting more melons and corn this year. We did a great job last year on our garden. We had many successful firsts last year.
Cantaloup, watermelon, Brussel sprouts, onions, potatoes, collard greens, snap peas, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, bell peppers and green beans.
We also had success with our usual crops:
tomatoes, cucumber, squash, zucchini, sweet potatoes, kale, okra, and eggplant.
The cantaloup was AMAZING and I am looking forward to them this year. We might even freeze some this year. We also have pear trees on our property and I hope they fruit this year. They didn't last year. I think some years they take a break lol. We are also doing meat birds again. So we have a bunch of baby chicks and turkey to brood. Brooding is not my fave, and processing sucks but it is worth it in the end. We also have to replenish our layer hens. Busy Busy Busy.... as always. Can't wait. This is a much needed vacation and then we can go hard again until fall when we take our family vacay.
I have only been working on a per diem basis as a nurse the last year because the Business keeps me hella busy but now that things are smoothing out and we are getting into a routine I'm thinking about getting a full-time job again. Probably in postpartum again. I'm not sure yet. I love being a Registered Nurse and working in Postpartum was by far my fave. We shall see how it all works out. Who knows, I might just end up working from home instead. I would love not to have to leave the house to go to work. We live out in the country so I have to travel an hour just to get to a good hospital. The commute also cuts down on my home/family time and I hate that.
